Four 91制片厂 students received seven awards for radio and television programming created within the last year from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB).
On March 6, the KAB announced the winners of this year鈥檚 Student Production awards, with 91制片厂 receiving more than three times as many awards as all other two-year colleges combined. 91制片厂 ranked fifth in the state compared to awards received by four-year universities.
Over the 27 years the KAB has sponsored a student production competition, 91制片厂 has received 107 first place awards, 92 second place awards and 107 honorable mentions, for a total of 306 awards.
鈥淥nce again, I鈥檓 very proud of how our students ranked among their colleagues at the two-year and four-year colleges in Kansas,鈥 stated Keith West, Professor of Mass Communication and General Manager of KBTL-FM, 88.1 The Grizz. 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 a wonderful way to extend our tradition of 91制片厂 excellence and dedication to our students. This is definitely proof that as a two-year college, we have professional-grade students ready to enter the industry.鈥
Awards will be presented at a luncheon held during the organization鈥檚 Student and Sports Seminar on April 23rd at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs. First and second place winners receive custom plaques, while those receiving an Honorable Mention take home framed certificates.
