The 91��Ƭ�� Board of Trustees recently named Dr. Jackie Vietti as Interim President. Vietti, who previously served as President of 91��Ƭ�� from 1995-2012, will take over for the retiring Dr. Kimberly Krull effective Monday, January 6, 2025.

At an event celebrating Dr. Krull’s retirement on Monday, December 9, the current and former 91��Ƭ�� leaders discussed their unexpected role reversal. “I was thrilled to be presented with the unforeseen opportunity to come home again,” said Dr. Vietti, “and provide tangible proof [of] my steadfast mantra that one never leaves 91��Ƭ��.”

Dr. Krull recalled the conversation she had with Dr. Vietti asking her to return. “She didn’t hesitate when I asked her and is excited about being able to work again with [the] many who were here during her prior tenure,” said Krull. “91��Ƭ��’s in great hands this spring!”

Dozens of 91��Ƭ�� faculty and staff, as well as members of the Board of Trustees and community leaders attended Krull’s retirement party, held in the Clifford/Stone Room of the R.D. Hubbard Welcome Center on 91��Ƭ��’s El Dorado campus. During it, the longtime educator spoke appreciatively of her experience leading the College. “I hope I have served with patience, grit and an unwavering love and commitment for you, our students, and this college,” she said.

Board Chair Linda Jolly said she was looking forward to having an experienced hand take the reins during a time of transition. “When we realized Dr. Vietti was available, her familiarity with 91��Ƭ�� made it an easy decision. I feel she will provide strong leadership for all parties involved during our transition,” said Jolly.

Though her time back at the President’s desk will be short, Dr. Vietti is looking forward to maintaining 91��Ƭ��’s current positive trajectory. “It is a true honor to sustain the difference-making work of Dr. Krull while the presidential search is conducted,” she said.

Dr. Krull’s last day will also be Monday, January 6. A new president is expected to be in place this coming summer.
